Members of the President ' s Council and Alumni Board with GMercyU leadership
Board members are engaged at a variety of University events, including Red and Gold Day and Open Houses, to share their experiences and discuss the impact GMercyU had on their lives and their careers.
With 100 % participation, the Alumni Board supports the GMercyU Fund, the University’ s annual fund. The Board serves as ambassadors and champions for this initiative every year, reaching out to their own alumni networks to encourage support.
In addition, the Board selects the winners of the Alumni Awards for Outstanding Undergraduate and Graduate Student at Commencement. The Board chooses students that reflect the Mercy mission while also excelling academically, and presents the awards at Honors Convocation.
The Board also provides an opportunity for members to grow their own network and expand their skills and resume.
“ I have grown both personally and professionally as I’ ve taken on new responsibilities and worked with a diverse group of individuals. I have also had the opportunity to expand my professional network in working with a talented group of fellow alumni who work in diverse industries,” Board Treasurer and Secretary Christina Gresh’ 04 said.
As members such as Diane and Christina finish their terms, it’ s an opportunity to add new voices and perspectives to the group.
“ I’ m coming up on 10 years since I graduated, and it’ s been very apparent in those 10 years just how much GMercyU has shaped my values and my path in life both professionally and personally. I knew I wanted to come back to campus in some capacity, and when I found the Alumni Board, it just felt like it was meant to be,” Julie Domanico’ 15 said.
