Junior Keely Greene and sophomore Natalie O ’ Neill earned All-AEC Second Team honors in the 10,000-meter and the heptathlon . Junior Kristen Dougher earned the All-AEC Second Team honor in the 3,000-meter steeplechase .
SOFTBALL The Griffins ended their season with a 5-25 record overall and an Atlantic East Conference ( AEC ) record of 3-9 . Sophomore Shylynn Cordero and Grace Scally earned All-AEC Second Team honors . The duo proved to be worthy on the field and served as the top two batters in the lineup . Cordero led the Griffins in batting average , at-bats , hits , total based , walks , hit-by-pitch , and on-base percentage . Her batting average , hits , and on-base percentage earned her a ranking amongst the AEC top 10 .
BASEBALL Seniors Jake Martell , T . J . Braisier , and Billy Collins each earned All-Atlantic East Conference ( AEC ) honors during the 2022 season . The Griffins earned the # 3 seed in the league ’ s postseason tournament . Unfortunately , the Griffins lost in their first two postseason games against # 2 seed Cabrini University and # 4 seed Marymount University . They ended the season with an overall record of 17-22 and an AEC record of 10-8 . Senior T . J . Braisier was named the GMercyU Male Student- Athlete of the Year .
MEN ’ S TENNIS Graduate student Justin Collins and freshman Gustavo Bilbao earned Atlantic East Conference ( AEC ) Player of the Week . Unfortunately , the Griffins had a winless season with an overall record of 0-11 and an AEC record of 0-5 . They battled hard against Cairn University , Albright College , Penn State Abington , and Penn State Brandywine in non-conference play before challenging their AEC rivals later in the season .
WOMEN ’ S TENNIS The Griffins earned the # 4 seed in the Atlantic East Conference ( AEC ) Women ’ s Tennis Championship Tournament after their wins against Cabrini University and Neumann University . Unfortunately , the Griffins lost to the # 1 seed Marywood University in the semifinals . The Griffins ended their season with an overall record of 4-7 and an AEC record of 2-3 . Sophomores Casey Meenan , Moira Ryan , Avamarie Backich , and senior Jen Eisemann earned All-AEC Second Team Doubles recognition .
MEN ’ S LACROSSE A late April win against Marymount University and a quarterfinal win over Marywood University positioned the Griffins to play the # 1 seed Cabrini University in the semifinals . Sophomore Nick Flamma and senior John McCreary scored the only two goals for the Griffins , leaving them with a loss of 22-2 . Sophomore Jason Eide led the Griffins in assists and points . The team ended their 2022 season , the first under new Head Coach Blasé Cesarone , with an overall record of 5-12 and an AEC record of 2-4 .
WOMEN ’ S LACROSSE The Griffins 1-4 record in the Atlantic East Conference ( AEC ) earned them the # 6 seed in the 2022 AEC Women ’ s Lacrosse Championship Tournament . They lost to the # 3 seed Neumann University during the quarterfinal game . They closed the season with an overall record of 8-10 and an AEC record of 1-4 . Senior Seydel Acuna , senior Laura Pelczar , junior Reilly Owens , and sophomore Kristin Varilla all earned All-Conference honors .
