MEN ’ S BASKETBALL At 15-9 overall and 7-5 in the Atlantic East Conference ( AEC ), GMercyU earned the # 3 seed in the 2021-2022 AEC Men ’ s Basketball Championship Tournament . GMercyU had one last chance at postseason success when they hosted William Patterson University in the opening round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference ( ECAC ) Division III Men ’ s Basketball Championship Tournament . The loss to William Patterson marked the final collegiate season for seven student athletes : graduate forward Justin Collins , senior forward Shane Ford , senior guard Ty Jones , graduate guard Matt O ’ Connor , graduate guard Keith Otto , senior

guard Jaye ’ Lyn Peebles , and graduate forward Donaven Spencer .

WOMEN ’ S BASKETBALL A 13-12 overall record and a 7-5 league standing landed GMercyU the # 4 seed in the 2021-2022 Atlantic East Conference ( AEC ) Women ’ s Basketball Championship Tournament . The Griffins ' season came to an in the AEC title game , losing to # 2 seed Immaculata University . Sophomore guard Lynzie Eggers and junior guard Elise Sylvester earned All-AEC Second Team honors this season . Sylvester was also named AEC Defensive Player of the Week and was placed on the Weekly Honor Roll . Eggers earned her spot as AEC Player of the Week three times throughout

the season and was also named AEC Defensive Player of the Week . Junior guard Kelly Owens is the only other Griffin to land on an AEC Weekly Report , earning AEC Defensive Player of the Week and a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll .

MEN ’ S TRACK & FIELD Sophomore sprinter Branden Soubik was a standout of the Griffin ’ s 2021-2022 season . He was named the Atlantic East Conference ( AEC ) Track Athlete and Rookie of the Year . He also achieved All- AEC performances in the 200-meter , 400-meter , and the 100-meter . Graduate student Matt LoStracco and junior Kevin Johnston joined Soubik on the All-AEC roster . LoStrocco

placed first and Johnston placed second in the decathlon .

WOMEN ’ S TRACK & FIELD The Griffins finished the season in third at the 2022 Atlantic East Conference ( AEC ) Women ’ s Track & Field Championship Meet . Senior Siobhan McShea had a stellar season , earning four All- AEC performances , two AEC Championship Meet records , and the AEC Women ’ s Track Athlete of the Year title . McShea was also named GMercyU ’ s Female Student-Athlete of the year , earned All-AEC First team honors in the 400-meter hurdles and the heptathlon , and earned All-AEC Second Team honors in the 400-meter and 4x400-meter relay .
