The Next Chapter of Healthcare Innovation Has Begun
In the heart of GMercyU’ s campus now stands a 63,000 square foot hub of innovation – one filled with possibility, discovery, and transformation.
It’ s where the students of today become the healers of tomorrow.
It’ s where the quest for accessible and equitable healthcare is not just a goal but a mission.
It ' s Where Innovation Meets Mercy.
In the Frances M. Maguire’ 55 Healthcare Innovation Center( HIC), which opened in August 2025, students learn to address the healthcare needs of today and tomorrow, with the goal of improving access and equity for all.
Fittingly, the grand opening of a building designed to meet the next great need was celebrated on September 24- Mercy Day. Mercy Day celebrates the founding of the first House of Mercy in Dublin, Ireland in 1827 by Catherine McAuley, the founder of the Sisters of Mercy.
Catherine dedicated her entire fortune to serving people who were suffering injustices, especially women and children. Every obstacle thrown her way – she steadfastly overcame – one by one by one.
Since then, the Sisters of Mercy have been meeting the next great need through innovation and a growth mindset with a commitment to just“ getting it done.”
This dogged spirit and“ get it done” mentality is at the core of GMercyU. It’ s our guiding post.
For more than 70 years, GMercyU has distinguished itself as a leader in preparing healthcare professionals who combine clinical excellence with genuine compassion. With the Frances M. Maguire’ 55 Healthcare Innovation Center, we are extending that legacy and positioning our students to meet today’ s workforce demands and shape tomorrow’ s care.
