HOUSING
Design criteria: external and internal
The extensive use of face brick provides permanence, texture, and authenticity, while a series of carefully proportioned arches create rhythm, depth, and scale across the building ' s facade. Together, these elements establish an architectural identity that is both timeless and unmistakable. These jointly create a landmark that is impossible to miss.
Behind the architecture lies an equally considered approach to urban living. Maritime Place comprises 334 apartments, ranging from studios to spacious three-bedroom homes, complemented by carefully integrated resident amenities designed to support modern city living. Every aspect of the development has been planned to balance functionality, longevity, and design, ensuring the building remains relevant for generations to come.
According to the developers, the interiors at Maritime Place were designed by their interior design partner Bone Studio, which was responsible for the complete interior design vision, including the common areas and apartment interiors.

The architecture drew inspiration from the precinct ' s industrial past.
“ Drawing inspiration from the building ' s maritime identity, the design incorporates coastal tones and textures throughout. Blue features prominently, from the distinctive blue-and-white chequered vinyl flooring in the passageways to the bold blue apartment entrance doors, creating a fresh, Mediterranean feel reminiscent of Santorini. The foyer continues this theme with statement seashell lighting and carefully selected decorative elements. Rather than reflecting the surrounding industrial character of Paarden Eiland, the interiors provide a unique, welcoming environment that feels timeless, vibrant, and unmistakably residential,” explains Max Mellville, Marketing Coordinator at Rawson Developers.
