From fresh Adriatic seafood and indigenous grape varieties to award-winning olive oils, truffles and family-run restaurants, the country offers a rich food culture that deserves far more attention.
Judging by the response in Stockholm, the message resonated. The event was scheduled to end in the early evening, but guests stayed for another two hours. Conversations continued, glasses were refilled and new connections were made. One guest summed it up with a smile:
"You should organise all tourism board events."
We'll happily take that as one of the nicest compliments we've received.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting Croatian Temptation (the gastronomic campaigns by the Croatian National Tourist Board) in Stockholm. Croatian Temptation showcases Croatia's premium wines, truffles, olive oils, and heritage. Our goal was to introduce Swedish journalists and influencers to a different side of Croatia - one defined by flavour, craftsmanship and genuine hospitality.
The evening also reflected a much bigger trend.
More destinations are shifting their focus from volume to value, and Croatia is a great example. Rather than simply attracting more visitors, the country is investing in authentic experiences, regional cuisine, local wines and small-scale producers.
It's a smart strategy. Food has become one of the strongest drivers of travel, with Scandinavian travellers increasingly ranking culinary experiences among the main reasons for choosing a destination. Croatia has every reason to embrace that trend. While its cuisine is often overshadowed by neighbouring Italy, Croatia has an extraordinary culinary heritage.
