Jarvis Cocker’s Sunday Service:
“I’m gonna put the boredom back into Sundays. That’s my manifesto”
What better way to soothe your Sunday afternoon hangover than with the mellow, monotone ring of Jarvis Cockers voice in your ear for 2 hours. His Sunday Service is an eccentric mix of interviews, music and borderline existential monologues – but we still love him.
Relaxed Muscle:
Relaxed muscle is perhaps, my favourite of all of Cocker’s side projects.
RIP Jarvis Cocker – say hello to local delinquent Darren Spooner the man behind “the sound of young Doncaster”.
Cocker formed an electro band with alter egos with Jason Buckle in 2003. He now had the space to do, well… whatever he wanted really, after years of being the bloke who mooned Michael Jackson at the Brits. And if that included karate chopping blocks of wood on stage, then so be it.
Relaxed muscle is yet another instance where Cocker has put an interesting spin on the discourse surrounding sex in our society. The only difference is that he was doing it in-between attending to the flowerbeds whilst on a council restart scheme.
