MY GENERAL ELECTION

Its 10:50 on June 8th, 2017 – The exit polls are finally in after a long day of arguing with various, slightly problematic family members over Labour’s immigration policy, why a hard Brexit won’t work and why starting a nuclear holocaust isn’t the best of ideas.

Now, I knew in my heart of hearts that Labour wouldn’t win a majority. But my newfound faith in electoral politics thanks to Jeremy Corbyn filled me with slightest glimpse of hope that they may come close – so much so, that I decided to stay up till 7am to see how things would unfold.

EXIT POLL:

- Conservatives: 314 (-17)

- Labour: 266 (+34)

- SNP: 34 (-22)

- Liberal Democrats: 14 (+6)
