Welcome aboard, Dr. Amaro
I
t’s the changing of the guard as former Administrator of MARINA Dr. Maximo Q. Mejia, Jr.
smoothly handed over the reigns to his successor,
Dr. Marcial Quirico C. Amaro III.
Having been of the breed, Dr. Amaro takes pride
in his humble beginnings seafarer who has very
extensive experience and background in the potentially-rich seafaring and maritime industry. Being proud
to having risen from the ranks in his profession that
spans decades, our new MARINA Administrator also
imparts his know-how of having been with private shipping companies in his capacity as auditor, inspector
and later on as accident investigator, among several
other notable feats. He is known for his advocacy of
higher, and better standards for training and honing
our seafarers to truly become world-class, competitive,
credible and professional practitioners.
It is with pride that we welcome aboard Dr. Amaro!
Let him continue his drive for enhancing excellence
and professionalism that defines well-meant changes for our maritime industry vis-à-vis rapidly evolving
