THE MEDICAL CITY NETWORK
Reaching Out to the Nation
and to the World
P
remier health institution The Medical City (TMC)
continues to expand its national and global footprint
with four provincial hospitals and 37 clinic sites in
34 locations in Metro Manila and in select provinces in the
Philippines.
TMC has also taken its brand into the global arena through
the ownership and operation of Guam Regional Medical City
(GRMC), the first and only private hospital in Guam, and the
establishment of ambulatory clinics in the Gulf Cooperation
Council (GCC) countries.
GRMC is a 130-bed tertiary level hospital that will offer
world-class health services tailored to the needs of the island
and the rest of the Micronesia Region.
“Our proximity, affordability and cultural similarity make
TMC-Main an attractive and cost-effective alternative to
receiving treatment on the US mainland,” said Dr. Alfredo
R.A. Bengzon, TMC President and CEO.
In its pursuit to provide high-quality healthcare to the
large and growing population of Filipinos in GCC countries,
TMC has partnered with the KAPICO group, a leading player
in the automotive, healthcare, hospitality, and lifestyle sectors
in the Middle East, to establish a network of ambulatory
care and diagnostic centers, similar to the TMC Clinics in
the Philippines.
The first clinic was established in Dubai in October 2015
also this year having over 700,000 Filipinos in residence, many
of whom are professionals and hold managerial positions,
and all with access to some form of health insurance. Its
vibrant and investor-friendly economy further commends
Dubai as the optimal maiden site.
The clinics offer multi-specialty consultations, diagnostic
services, day surgery and pharmacy. The vision is to replicate
the Dubai model in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and
Kuwait.
In the Philippines, the four provincial hospitals are TMC
Iloilo, TMC Clark, TMC South Luzon, and TMC Pangasinan.
TMC Iloilo was inaugurated in 2009. TMC Clark formally
opened to serve patients in Central Luzon in January 2015.
TMC South Luzon, formerly known as Southern Luzon
Hospital and Medical Center (SLHMC), was launched in
October 2015. TMC Pangasinan, the latest addition to the
TMC network, unveiled plans for its expansion in December
2015. Renovation and construction are expected to be
completed in 2018.
Last year, three more TMC clinics were opened and
they are located in Regis-Katipunan, SM Light Mall and in
SM San Mateo. The opening of the new clinics brings them
closer to the target of opening 50 clinics in 2017 when TMC
celebrates its 50th year.
“With all these developments, we can stake our claim
as having the largest healthcare network in the country,”
Dr. Bengzon said.
