Messiah ’ s work of redemption therefore allows the reconciliation of humanity with God . Adam ’ s relationship with the Father is being redeemed , as is the task God gave Adam . Also , Adam had dominion in Eden . He had authority and was a co-labourer with God . Thus , Adonai invites us today into that place of domination and authority , as through the Holy Spirit , we are invited to join in the work that the Father is doing just as Yeshua did . ( John 5:19 )
The Police officer has the power to pull us over , but they can only act on that authority which they have been given . In fulfilling their responsibility as a law enforcement officer , they must first take the action of putting on their lights and then pull the individual over . We , as believers , likewise have a Godgiven authority , but it is only helpful to us and God ’ s Kingdom if we step out and act . One of the primary ways that we can do that is through prayer .
As believers we get to pray in the Name of Yeshua . How amazing is that ! But to pray in His Name , we must have trust and faith in Yeshua . This trust is not just an intellectual acknowledgement that he is the Saviour , Lord , and King , but a deep trust and reliance upon Yeshua coming from a personal relationship with Him . In this , Yeshua told his disciples ,
“ Very truly I tell you , whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing , and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father .” - John 14:12 ( NIV )
We need faith in Yeshua and the power of the Ruach . In John 14 , Yeshua promises the Ruach to His followers . It is the work of the Ruach to give us discernment and guidance about God ’ s will and to empower us with the gifts we need to do the work of prayer .
So , as we have the power of the Spirit and trust in Yeshua , we can step out and ask . Yet , we must ask in the Name of Yeshua . Our Messiah here reminds , “ Ask and you will receive ” ( John 16:24 ), and Ya ’ akov ( James ) reminds us that “… the reason you do not have is that you don ’ t pray .” ( James 4:2 )
Where is Yeshua calling you to step out in authority and pray ? Is it for your family members to know Yeshua as Messiah ? Is it for your community ? Is it for the geopolitical movements unleashing division and chaos in our world ? Is it for Israel , during this time of war ? Nothing is too small or too big to be a topic of prayer . When we come to our heavenly Father , through the blood of Yeshua and in the power of the Ruach asking in the Name of Yeshua , we will be heard , and God will act !
