Similarly , as Messianic believers , we carry a badge of authority in prayer because we belong to Yeshua . We have His badge and His authority . As we accept Yeshua as Lord , we are adopted by the Father through the justifying work of the Spirit , who allows us to cry out “ Abba Father .” ( Rom 8:15 and Gal 4:6 ) As adopted children of God , we therefore can come to Him anytime . The late Timothy Keller best expresses this concept when he said :
“ The only person who dares wake up a king at 3:00 a . m . for a glass of water is a child . We have that kind of access .”
It is not any child that can get a King out of bed . It is a child of the King . They are the ones who have direct access to their father . As born-again children of the King , we have this kind of access .
When we come to the Father in the Name of Yeshua , we are promised by Him that , “ My Father will give you whatever you ask in my Name .” ( John 16:23 ) Our requests are heard through Yeshua , and the Father will respond to all our prayers .
Of this , Paul reminds ,
“ Even when we were dead in our trespasses , He made us alive together with Messiah . ( By grace you have been saved !) And He raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Messiah Yeshua .” Ephesians 2:5-6 ( TLV )
In this , we are promised that through Yeshua we are all positioned with Him in Heaven as we pray !
Take a moment to reflect upon that profound truth . We are , through adoption , a child of the King ! We have direct access to our heavenly Father , the creator of all things , and He is a Good Father who delights to receive us !
With such access , we can come before the Lord at any time . We can confidently approach God ’ s throne because we have the authority of His children ( Heb 4:16 ). We have the authority of access and the authority of request .
