Last month ’ s article ( June 2024-Sivan ) addressed how pride was the root of all kinds of sin . One can only aspire to a life of holiness if they have repented of pride against God , enabling Him to cleanse and renew our minds from unhealthy independence and attachment to the patterns of worldly thinking . So , it can be said that the highway to holiness is the low way of humility . When entering the Kingdom , making Yeshua the Lord of one ’ s life means that we now commit to do things His way . The first mile marker on the highway to holiness is thus developing humility toward God .
The second mile marker on the road to holiness is humility toward others . This goes far beyond showing respect to those around us and being “ nice .” It is a posture of listening and learning toward others and seeing them through the eyes of Yeshua . True humility is tested and exposed when others mistreat us .
I want you to get a vivid picture of what Yeshua went through during his time on the earth . Though it is impossible for us to completely understand how he felt and the strength from which he acted , imagining it will nevertheless heighten our awareness of the call on our own lives .
