The Blessings
as a Path of Spiritual

At the beginning of Yeshua ’ s Sermon on the Mount , starting in Matthew 5 , there is a series of blessings ( often called the Beatitudes , as rendered from the Latin as blessings ), where Yeshua sets the tone for His entire sermon . In this teaching , Yeshua instructs on many and common ways in understanding God , His commandments , and many other spiritual concepts and shows those common understandings to be incomplete or often backwards from reality .
The sermon is an excellent reference on various topics , yet I would suggest that the entire sermon has lessings as the foundation for each of the topics , and not just one of many random items thrown together . The blessings are a concise way of Yeshua starting this ‘ theological realignment ’ that continues through the whole teaching .
The blessings in Matthew 5:3-12 are a pattern of salvation and spiritual growth . When Paul says to “ work out your salvation with fear and trembling ” ( Philippians 2:12 ), the blessings are a model of how the Messianic-believer is to do that .
