ADONAI promised to be the God of the Jewish people : God made an everlasting covenant with Abraham and his genealogical descendants through Issac and Jacob ( Israel ) to be their God and they His people ( Gen . 12 , 15 , 17 , 22 , 35 ). God wants an everlasting relationship with the genealogical descendants of Abraham , Issac , and Jacob — the Jewish people . Those Jewish individuals in history who decided to reject God ’ s offer of eternal relationship are never to be interpreted to mean that ADONAI , the covenant keeping God , revokes His irrevocable promise and plan to be the God of the Jewish people . And neither does His joyful inclusion of the Nations cause Him — past , present , or future to displace Israel in His plan !
The Incarnation was in Jewish flesh : The Word of God , eternally one with His Father , sharing fully in the identity of ADONAI has since the Incarnation , permanently taken to Himself a fully human nature as a Jew . In His full divinity , He shares in the identity of the one true God of Israel . And since the Incarnation , He shares fully in the identity of the people of Israel ! The full humanity of Jesus is not genealogically generic . He is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah , the Root and Offspring of David forever ! Messiah ’ s Jewish identity is an everlasting dimension of His human identity .

This confirms God ’ s everlasting commitment to be bonded together with the people of Israel !
Salvation is from the Jews : God ’ s faithful preservation of the Jewish people in the story of Chanukah is linked to His faithfulness to bring forth the promise of the salvation of Israel and the Nations in the coming of the Son of God from heaven to earth ! First off , there needed to be a Jewish people for the Messiah to be born into ! And the Kingdom that the Jewish Messiah brought He made available to both His own Jewish people and to the Nations . This is available to all who give their believing allegiance to Him on the basis of His incarnation , life , obedience , suffering , sacrificial death for sin , burial , bodily resurrection , ascension into Heaven , gift of the Holy Spirit , and promise of future bodily resurrection at His second coming !
