“... college will definitely provide me an opportunity to expand on these horizons .”
STAR Students , ( L-R ) Chandler Livingston of Tiftarea Academy , Benjamin Wilson of Tift County High School and Michal Gregus of Tift County High School in the newly renovated Baldwin Library on the ABAC campus in Tifton .
“ As I ’ ve come to progress through my senior year , I ’ ve found that there ’ s a lot of stuff that I want to do that is just outside of school , a lot of stuff that I want to learn on my own and a lot of stuff that I want to try ,” Wilson said . “ Traveling to new places has definitely become a lot more appealing than it was before , I think I have a much larger interest in that . I think that general changes to my lifestyle are things that I want to start implementing , and my thought process is that I ’ m not sure if I want a job that ’ s going to be my life .”
While Wilson is still planning to pursue studies in mechanical engineering , he aims to use his time at Tech to explore other fields similarly to Gregus and see if anything else sticks , the hope being he will find a field leading to a career that is both fulfilling and will give him the free time to pursue his interests .
Some of the fields he has considered include computer science and medicine , though he is interested in potentially mixing engineering with studies in biological sciences .

“... college will definitely provide me an opportunity to expand on these horizons .”

~ Michal Gregus
Livingston has thought extensively about his eventual career , hoping to follow up his aerospace engineering studies by signing on with a company such as SpaceX once he graduates .
However , all of these are also reluctant to leave their schools behind . Livingston , who has studied at Tiftarea for 14 years of his education , will be moving away from practically the only school he ’ s ever known .
“ It ’ s been nice . I ’ ll miss it here ,” Livingston said . “( Tiftarea Academy ) is the only school I ’ ve ever gone to .”
Wilson reported he had formed a closely knit social group during his time at school , which included Gregus , and was reluctant not only to let that go , but essentially start over at a new school , a sentiment that Gregus reciprocated .
Despite this , they all continue to eagerly walk toward the future , excited for the opportunities the next chapter of their lives will bring , and wherever the road they walk takes them , these star students will continue to shine . TS
