“ Georgia Tech will be a very different lifestyle and experience .”
STAR Students , ( L-R ) Chandler Livingston of Tiftarea Academy , Benjamin Wilson of Tift County High School , Michal Gregus of Tift County High School .
The two TCHS seniors have also decided on a major to pursue once they make their way to their respective colleges , but their time and experiences in high school , most notably their final year , has altered their outlook somewhat .
Gregus and Wilson are eagerly looking forward to the freedom to explore what college will bring them , after both expressed experiencing feelings of pressure to decide on their career and education paths during the earlier years of their high school tenure .
When reaching their senior year , however , they began to understand the opportunity that the next level of education would provide them .
“ I certainly can say that over this past year , past two years , especially , I ’ ve developed a greater appreciation for things that I ’ ve found more and more enjoyment in doing ,” Gregus said . “ I think that college will definitely provide me an opportunity to expand on these horizons .”

“ Georgia Tech will be a very different lifestyle and experience .”

~ Benjamin Wilson
While Gregus has at the moment settled on a major in physics mainly due to his interest in the subject , those same interests as well as his experiences with his extracurriculars and other academics in his high school education have convinced him to keep his options open once he heads off to college .
“ While I enjoy the conceptual nature of just learning how and why , sort of , things happen to stuff around us , which is sort of the prevalent question in physics ,” Gregus said . “ I also enjoy applying what I know in a hands-on manner , doing physical , tactile things with what I know in my mind to be correct .”
Among the other fields Gregus has considered is a look into medicine . He has also developed an appreciation into music and would be interested in exploring that further but is at the moment unsure how to properly apply it .
Wilson currently plans on studying mechanical engineering , as well as pursuing it as a career , though his recent interest in traveling has somewhat changed that .
