The Healthy, Happy & Hot Factor! with Tori Amos Are you tired and busy? Are you over caffeinated and not fully rested? Yes?! I hear you, and I understand just how you feel. I can be on the same fast train and sometimes I just have to get off! I often remind myself that I am Healthy, Happy and Hot! This simple reminder can help you too. Know that, no matter what, you have the essentials for a blissful life! But these three H’s don’t just happen by themselves; you need to put in a little effort. The Healthy Happy & Hot Factors are rituals to treat yourself to everyday. The 3 H’s are the basics of the day -- helping you keep up with the busy train of life. There are so many rituals that you can practice on a regular basis; here are some of my favorites! Healthy Greens, glorious greens! I was blessed growing up with a big garden in the back yard. Fresh collard greens, kale, swiss chards, broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, potatoes and more! From spring into the winter months, my family and I would eat from our garden. I ate yummy, organic, healthy food every day of my younger years. Since then, greens and a healthy diet are my way of life. Although I love all kinds of vegetables, I know that all things should be done in moderation and certain foods are more beneficial in certain seasons. In the winter months eating red fruits and veggies, such as beets, black berries, cranberries, purple cabbage and acai, provide an excellent source of iron to keep you strong during the cold days. Black cherries and pomegranate juice contain antioxidants to keep you more resistant to colds and flus. Adding ginger root and turmeric in your foods or teas is a great way to detox. Adding all these yummy fruits and veggies to your diet is a great way to stay healthy all year long. Also during the winter months our metabolism can slow down, it’s important to eat raw fruits and veggies for some healthy enzymes to break down your food and digest.
