Letter from The Editor
WHOA! Where has the year gone? Suddenly, I look
around and the year has slipped on by. That’s what
happens when we are living life on two wheels.
I have to ask….Who all is going to make their way over
to Bikes Blues and BBQ? This is one of the largest
motorcycle rallies in the United States and it’s right here
in our own backyard. If you’ve never been, it’s a good way
to see the Ozark mountains, ride the Pig Trail highway,
experience the Nation’s biggest vendors including demo
rides, biker schwag and more. Some of the highlights for
me are the riding, the party at Pig Trail Harley-Davidson,
cruising Dickson Street and Stokes Air Battle of the Bikes
on Saturday. My favorite ride is the South end of the Pig
Trail returning back on Hwy 71 to the Baum Stadium
area. There I park in the free parking lot, jump on the train
(small fee) and ride to Dickson Street to see the vendors,
food and bands on the main stage.
After the rally, please join me for the Talimena With T ride
October 14 in Southeast Oklahoma. I will be hosting a
casual ride across this beautiful mountain, stopping at
vistas for sightseeing, photos, games and getting to know
other riders with the intent of having fun. We will make
a stop at End of Trail Saloon for lunch then back on the
mountain to proceed to Talihena. There we will travel a
bit further on to Chuck’s Cycle where they will host us
for a great evening with a live band and a ride in movie!
What a great time! It’s nothing fancy this year, it’s just a
ride for fun people to meet other riders in a scenic riding
area of SE Oklahoma/SW Arkansas. See ad in this issue
and more details next month as we head into Fall riding
season.
September 26 and October 24, join me in Stillwater,
OK at the Cigar Box, 717 McElroy Rd for Stillwater Bike
Night. We have a great sponsor in the
Cigar Box
who want to show us a Smokin’ great
time!
Everyone ride safely out there! Enjoy
the cool temps slowly sliding in to my
favorite, Hoodie Riding Season! I
know many of you can relate to that!
