As the speedometer needle approached warp-speed (nearly 40 miles an hour), just as I was getting ready to shift out of second gear, she asked me to slow down. I really wanted to just PEG the throttle and see what would happen, but I didn’t. Besides, I had promised my wife that I would not scare Molly. After a few miles she started to relax a little, her death grip on my shoulders slackened a bit. On a sunny, 70-degree day in December, we cruised along the country roads , past Garth Brook’s land, then turned along Keatonville Ridge. When we reached Highway 20, we made a u-turn and went back to my house. We were out maybe all of twenty minutes or so. When she got off the bike, she had a great big grin on her face. “I’d like to do that again” was her response.
