THE AUSSIE BIKER

- PART 4

Howdy People !
Here I am chilling out in Minocqua , WI with my friends HD Ray and Deb . First job was get the washing done then a scenic cruise on a pontoon boat around Blue Lake . While on a stop at Ray ’ s friend ’ s home , I scored a H-D Pig figurine which Ray had at his retirement party from Harley Davidson and everyone signed it including Willie G and Nancy .
After some fishing , we took a ride down to Tomahawk to see about a tour of the Harley- Davidson plant but don ’ t bother because they don ’ t do tours . Was a nice ride anyway and I got to meet another friend of Ray ’ s who worked at the factory . He had a 2003 Deuce with 14 miles on it and a lot of anniversary collectibles signed by Willie G .
After a week of visiting , it was time to move on so I headed out towards the Canadian border . The ride across Iron Mountain was pleasant with great scenery as was the ride across 2 through

Michigan to St Ignace . I crossed the border into Canada at Sault Steve . Marie and continued along 17 to Iron Bridge which was a great ride . Next day I headed East across to Renfrew with great weather and scenery on into Ottawa . I did a bit of tourist stuff and went to Hog Back Falls then to the Harley Davidson dealer who got straight onto my bike for the 15,000 mile service . Was lovely to stay a couple days on the St Lawrence River . Did a ride around the area riding along the northern bank of the St Lawrence River then to the Saint Ursule waterfall which was great to visit with the bonus of an old railway bridge . Riding back to Repentigny I took the back roads which gave me an insight into the lives of the people in the area . Next day , I rode along the northern bank then crossed to the southern bank and up to Levis which was a picturesque ride with a lot of other motorcyclists enjoying the nice weather and views .
Caught the ferry across to Quebec City the next day and walked around the interesting old city . After a quick stop at the Harley Davidson dealer the next morning I headed back to the northern bank and to Montmorency Falls for a photo stop .
I then headed along the scenic 138 to St Simeon and caught the ferry across to the southern bank . Next morning , the weather changed and I left the motel in
heavy rain which continued for most of the morning . The scenery after a delay behind an accident made riding through Forillon National Park and along the coast to New Carlisle very memorable . Next day I woke up to rain and fog which didn ’ t make riding much fun . By lunch time , the weather had cleared and I reached Bathurst where I continued around the coast to end up in Amherst where I spent the night in a 2 star hotel . The ride to Sydney , Nova Scotia the next day was in better weather and quite scenic . I was privileged to enjoy magnificent scenery around Cape Breton on a fantastic ride around this area .
The following day I headed to the US border by riding along the coast and through the Fundy National Park which was a cool ride .
After crossing the border , I found highway 1 and followed that around the coast of Maine . Once I reached Portland , I headed east into New Hampshire across the White Moutains on 112 to 10 and followed the Connecticut River to Lebanon where I crossed into Vermont one of the states I needed to do to complete the 50
