FEATURES by a semi-truck while exiting an interstate. She went down hard suffering numerous broken bones and horrendous injuries. At press time, Tooter is still in the hospital healing. Knowing Adam had a mission to complete, Tooter sent him back out on the road against his will. Adam sadly parted ways, but knew she was in good hands. On October 2, 2016, Adam Sandoval and Scooter completed arrival at every single Harley-Davidson Dealership in the lower 48 states! They raised over $300,000 for veterans and veterans’ children scholarships. They rode over 82,000 miles on the Warhorse. This turbulent ending was not over as the trio headed home to Florida for a final party, Hurricane Matthew swept across the state canceling celebrations. However, on October 8, he had a final party at Six Bends Harley-Davidson the day after the hurricane passed over Florida. What an ending to an epic journey! But, it was not over just yet. October 21, 2016, Adam was 24 Thunder Roads Magazine of OK/AR met in Paris, TX by a small band of the merrimen, and women, who have ridden alongside him and/ or supported him over the past two years sharing road, rides, dealerships, experiences and life living off of a bike. I rode in from Oklahoma with Daniel, meeting up with a group from Altus, OK. Gabe was there from AR who had once repaired Egor, the Scootin’ Bus. Jack, the bus driver, and Broadway, the photographer greeted us at a local ea tery. About midnight, Blaster and John of Indiana, actually they’re both from there, rode 1084 miles and surprised Adam by their arrival. They’ve each ridden over 11 times with Scootin’ America. But two very special guests this trip were Kyle Brown and Brandi Swann from Georgia. They were there as the recipients of the Infidel Bike. The following day, we “groupies” met Adam off location to ride into Paris Harley-Davidson for the Infidel give away. We were met by a large crowd. Inside the bike presentation was filled with gratitude and humility displayed by the winner, the builders, Adam and Cody and his mother, owners of Paris Harley-Davidson. We were, escorted by Kyle on The Infidel Bike and Adam, to the Red River Valley Veterans Memorial to pay tribute and do a photo shoot. Many of us reconfirmed our old friendships, shared road stories and, best of all, got closer to a great veteran who we’ll call a friend for life. I speak for all of us when I say, we can’t wait for the honor of riding alongside the Infidel Bike and Purple Heart Veteran Kyle once again. Thank you for your service Kyle! If you’re interested in donating to another veteran custom bike build, you can donate at www.gofundme.com/ scootinamericabikebuild2. This time they are building a trike for a lucky disabled veteran.
