BRIDGE RIDE IN ARKANSAS

dawned into a gloriously, sunny
day. With temperatures headed
into the mid sixties by the
afternoon, it was going to be
a perfect fall day to get out in
the hills. We decided to hit the
twisties and take in some of the
early colors starting to burst forth
in the Ozarks.
Angela, my riding partner,
and I saddled up a little after
noon to head out on a run that
would take us out towards
Eureka Springs on Hwy 62. Not
really having a destination, we
decided to head
into Beaver, AR,
to check out the
“Little
Golden
Gate of Arkansas,”
also known as the
Beaver Bridge. It
is the last single
lane
suspension
bridge
of
its
type in Arkansas
and is a popular
destination for both
two wheeled and four wheeled
tourists. Built in 1949, the bridge
is 554 feet long as it spans the
White River, and it’s only eleven
feet wide allowing traffic to only
