Your Voice is Medicine
Your voice doses me with medication,
Soothing the constant cramping within,
From drip after drip of feverish memories,
Spattering my clammy brow like rain.
I savor every flavor from the rich feast,
Of your laughter and wisdom after you've left,
Even song birds, sensing your wonder,
Sing sweeter, in chorus to your good health.
But now thunder booms beyond the ridges,
Ozone fills my nostrils, and lifts my hair,
I am as still as an iron railing,
Imagining you - with lightening - in the air
