Join Alumni on the Stage and in the Gallery After lots of brainstorming and laughter, the Alumni Association Events Committee and creative volunteers have finalized the format and date for our first variety show, scheduled for Fri. and Sat., October 25 and 26, 2008. We’ve narrowed the many fun ideas down to the following outline. If you’re interested in getting involved, whether on stage or off, contact the Alumni Office. General Family numbers —family groups doing music, acting or comedy Poetry or dramatic reading, serious or funny, with music or sound effects Comedy TA Infomercial Trojan cheerleaders cheering at the SATs or for Debate Club Top 10 reasons for being a TA alum Rosanne Rosanna Danna Family Feud – alumni vs current students or different decades of alumni Smothers Brothers Who’s On First? Music Individual musician(s) with their own act(s), groups of family or friends A cappella groups, like the Persuasions or street rap Barbershop Beatles medley Big production number, like Hair Spray or Grease Dance Steppin’ Dance Company alumni In addition to the variety show, alumni are welcome to share their other artistic talents, too. Mary Alice Bellevue Tripp ‘70 is organizing an alumni art show, including all visual arts media, during the week of the performance in October. Work will be displayed in the O’Neil Gallery of TA’s new building, outside Garland Auditorium.
