of 2017, Norma, her daughter,
and her grandchildren were
joined by members of the Maine
State Troopers Association and
attended several events, including
a candlelight vigil to honor those
who gave the ultimate sacrifice to
serve and protect. Norma reflected
that the Maine State Police is, "a
real brotherhood. Even though
his friends are retired, there is no
doubt in my mind that one of
these men would help me out if I
needed it."
To honor Lt. Goupil, his family
established a scholarship that
is awarded each year to a
graduating senior at Thornton
Academy to provide assistance
to a student who is pursuing a
career in law enforcement.
