There were at least 50 people in the
audience who had traveled together
from TA to watch the performance
and each seemed to carry a special
memory of their time together.
That sentiment wasn’t lost on his
Thornton dance teacher.
“If you know me well, you know
who Camden is,” said Emma
Campbell, Thornton’s dance teacher
and choreographer. “If you don't
know who he is, you will someday.”
Current students, former students,
teachers, and friends joined
Campbell as they occupied a good
portion of the seats closest to the
stage.
“I can't even begin to express how
proud I was tonight watching
Camden Loeser in the Broadway
National Tour of Pippin. He blew
me away, said Cathy Murray,
the Director of Vocal Music at
Thornton Academy “He is a star
through and through! I cried
through the opening and cried
again at the end.”

“Camden has been one my biggest sources of inspiration as a teacher
and artist. If you know me well, you know who Camden is. If you don't
know who he is, you will someday. Last night I got to see him in his first
professional gig in the Broadway National Tour of 'Pippin.' Without a
doubt, everyone in that audience felt the magnetism that Cam gives off
in performance. The energy was real in Portland last night. Camden,
we love you fiercely, and I am always in awe of your artistry.”

For those from Thornton who
were in attendance, Loeser’s entire
performance seemed to be directed
toward them. He was one of them
again.
At the end of the performance he
met with his former classmates,
friends, and teachers to celebrate
the show and his homecoming.
“I was so happy to see everyone
there after the show,” Loeser said.
“Thornton Academy helped me get
to where I am and I am so grateful
to have such an amazing support
system that I can come back to.”
