2015-16 Annual Report
(July 1, 2015-June 30, 2016)
Developing a sustainable base of support to the Thornton
Fund was the primary focus of fundraising efforts this
fiscal year. Participation matters most, and gifts of every
size impact the lives of students at Thornton Academy.
Donations to the Thornton Fund provide breakfast and
lunch to students in need, construct a state-of-the-art
STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) wing,
increase academic and extracurricular offerings, invigorate
the arts, and support championship level athletics.
Demonstrating their confidence and dedication to
Thornton Academy, the Development Committee, Board of
Trustees, Class Agents and Alumni Board worked together
to support all development efforts.
Special Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Highlights:
•

$124,244.30 Unrestricted dollars were raised in support
of the greatest need at Thornton Academy;

•

The 9th Thornton Academy Annual Auction celebrated
its most successful year, of which $18,395.00 was
dedicated to the Headmaster’s Stud
