“ I knew that was something I really wanted to do and it was really fun , so the year after that , I signed up for Willy Wonka Jr .,” JW said .
While JW was on the stage performing , Hogan took note and found that he could also envision himself on the stage .
The following year , he auditioned for The Wizard of Oz , as did JW and their middle sister Jocelyn . “ I began following them through most of their endeavors ,” he said . “ They did TOSAC , I did TOSAC , they did Troupe , I did Troupe , they did One Act , I did One Act .”
In 2019 , Jocelyn decided to pursue sports at a more serious level , leaving JW and Hogan on the stage at Thomasville On Stage and Company . Being at TOSAC together created an even stronger bond than either one of them could have ever anticipated .
JW went on to become a board member of the Young Actors Troupe , choreographing their most recent summer production of Sweeney Todd , while acting as Judge Turpin .
However , when asked about their favorite performance , it was an easy answer : Fiddler on the Roof .
Fiddler on the Roof was taking place at Thomasville High School , where Hogan had a starring role his junior year . Unfortunately , the show didn ’ t have enough actors , so Hogan called in a favor .
“ We went through five different people to play this one role ,” he explained . “ It was originally going to be an alumni guest character . It was a small , bit role of someone who gives a speech about a dowry .”
