Let’s hear it for…Lucy Pittaway
Lucy Pittaway is the uber-talented artist whose
glorious painting Northern Life graces the cover
of This Is Tees Valley.
and set up in business as an artist. Her
signature style, which soon had fans flocking,
often features nods to her Teesside roots,
with iconic landmarks such as Roseberry
Topping in the background.
The last few years have seen Lucy go from
strength to strength. She has been named
the UK's most popular selling artist for the
last two years by the Fine Art Trade Guild
and there are now Lucy Pittaway galleries
in Brompton-on-Swale and Richmond with
a third recently opened in the pretty Tees
market town of Yarm.
Lucy’s A Northern Life collection is
arguably her most glorious work to date,
featuring a host of landmarks and iconic
scenes showcasing life in the Tees Valley and
wider North-East of England at its very best.
L
ucy, the daughter of Middlesbrough
Football Club legend Willie Maddren,
was born in the Tees town of
Billingham and grew up in nearby
Stockton-on-Tees. Her career path took in
stints as a florist, graphic designer, jewellery
maker and teacher, though her love for art
was always an overriding passion.
