THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION
Winner – Kimberley Turner with her Tees Tech Ambassador award.
isn’ t just about targets and growth – it’ s about creating an environment where our staff can thrive, enjoy what they do and still have time for family, friends and life outside of work.
“ The best businesses are built by people who feel valued, trusted and balanced, not burnt out.”
This is physically embodied in Boho X, Double Eleven’ s spectacular 70,000-sq ft, six-storey UK headquarters.
Occupied since early 2024 and built for collaboration, the state-of-the-art facility features a 24-hour employee gym, 200-seater auditorium, bespoke classroom for training and development, a rooftop terrace boasting panoramic views of rolling countryside and a market hall offering subsidised healthy food.
Together with a thriving studio in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and an in-house, fully accredited training academy, Double Eleven has bucked recent trends.
The wider gaming sector has suffered from post-pandemic overexpansion and the soaring cost of living, but Double Eleven’ s strategic investments have kept it primed and ready for continuous growth.
Leaders – Co-CEOs Mark South and Kimberley Turner.
The latter half of 2025 ushered in an evolution in leadership, with founder Lee taking on a broader, strategic role as chairman of Pneuma Group, Double Eleven’ s parent company, and passing the day-to-day torch to two proven leaders – Kimberley, the former CFO, commercial director and 2022 Tees Businesswoman of the Year, alongside former COO Mark.
Having worked side-by-side with Lee since the company’ s conception, their appointment guarantees continuity of the firm’ s core values while injecting fresh momentum into ambitious longterm plans.
And with co-development key to its DNA, it means others worldwide entrust Double Eleven to bring their visions to life.
Kimberley said:“ We have two studios in two different time zones, but one joined-up mindset and culture. Quality, consistency and always looking for ways to improve are key to our success. It’ s central to our partnerships and the long-
term health of the business.
“ We’ re not immune to the challenges many studios face. We remain robust, but there is always more to do. There is no time to be complacent and we need to always have our eye on staying ahead.
“ Co-development is an increasingly crowded space and we need to remain competitive by building on those strengths to move us forward.”
Beyond global partnerships and stateof-the-art facilities, Double Eleven’ s identity remains tied to the Tees Valley, where it is shaping the area’ s future and supporting its most vulnerable communities.
One example is an exciting new partnership with The Glowsticks Project in Middlesbrough, where it is helping the community interest company create an inclusive gaming space for neurodivergent young people at its cafe.
Such initiatives highlight the company’ s“ secret to success” – a genuine care for its community, perfectly mirrored by its ancient Egyptian emblem, the Eye of Horus, which watches over the wellbeing and prosperity of the town.
As Double Eleven moves through its Sweet 16 and looks toward its third decade, the studio remains a beacon of digital excellence.
With a united global team, visionary new leadership and an unshakeable bond with its Teesside roots, Middlesbrough’ s biggest tech export is ready for the next level.
