Festive – Redcar and Cleveland College gets into the party mood.
Growing – NETA Training has plenty to celebrate, including a new facility situated alongside Redcar and Cleveland College. training in the likes of scaffolding, rope access and rigging and lifting.
The development was made possible with funding from the government’ s Levelling Up Partnership fund after a successful bid by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.
Expressing themselves – Stockton Riverside College is renowned for its creative arts and creative courses.
In the report, inspectors wrote:“ Learners and apprentices flourish across all parts of the group. They embrace the strong sense of belonging that they experience at all campuses. They feel valued and respected, regardless of their backgrounds.”
Describing behaviour as exemplary, they found,“ learners and apprentices are extremely positive about their studies and about all aspects of life in college”.
The report noted the“ very clear vision” of the group’ s leaders, both when it comes to creating a“ highly inclusive, supportive and welcoming culture” and in successfully attracting new investment to develop stateof-the-art facilities.
Inspectors commented on the strength of relationships built with employers and stakeholders, helping to shape the curriculum to meet the skills priorities of the Tees Valley, including skills bootcamps for adult learners, and responding to growth areas.
Grant describes the Etc. as five colleges and training providers brought together at different times to secure their futures and stabilise and strengthen them in their respective communities.
He said:“ By coming together, the providers have been able to share knowledge, skills, resources and best practice, while also building on each site’ s individual areas of expertise and strength.
“ In doing this we have covered some immeasurable distance, which has culminated in this fantastic whole group achievement.”

ALL ACCESS ACADEMY Industrial training in large-scale subject areas has been given a boost with a new NETA Training-led facility situated alongside Redcar and Cleveland College.

NEW NETA TRAINING CENTRE What better way to mark NETA’ s 50th anniversary than with work underway on a brand-new £ 14.7m training centre?
NETA has a long history of delivering the knowledge and expertise to meet industrial training needs and a new purpose-built centre in Thornaby means it will once again have facilities that match its Outstanding training provision.
The two-storey specialist engineering centre will comprise workshops for vocational training in the likes of welding, fabrication, electrical, mechanical and pipefitting, as well as domestic and commercial gas training.
Located on Princeton Drive, alongside Stockton Riverside College, NETA will continue to deliver training for school leavers, apprentices and commercial delegates.
One of the priority interventions set to bring long-term change and investment to Thornaby as part of its £ 23.9m Town Deal, the new centre was made possible with a £ 4.5m investment from the Town Deal Fund, through Thornaby Town Deal Board, delivered in partnership with Stockton-on- Tees Borough Council.
Significant funding has also been secured from the Department for Education and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
