international
commerce
When launching
international
commerce, there are
some best practices
to keep in mind:
1. Have a global English
language site, as well as
local sites in key markets.
2. Choose one country at a
time, and localize, localize,
localize.
It has been said
that arguing
against
globalization is
like arguing
against the
laws of gravity.

3. Consider payments times
(see page 18) and be sure to
localize pricing and taxes as
well.
4. Never try to launch in a
company that you haven’t
visited personally.
5. Work with local and
expert partners (in
marketing, payments, and
fulfillment.)
6. Be sure to have
transparency in shipping
times, tariffs, etc.
7. Testing things out? Try
affiliate marketing or sites
like TMall in China.
