THE WORLD AROUND US
MARKETING
1. H&M AND
SAMSUNG PRESENTS
“T-COMMERCE”
Commercials have long
changed the way
Americans watch the
Super Bowl, and
everybody knows it.
Taking it one step
further though, H&M
debuted a shoppable
commercial thanks to
the help of Samsung
smart TVs and Delivery
Agent. Using pop-up
menus and the remote
control, viewers
watching the game on
a Samsung TV that was
connected to the
internet were able to
purchase items from
the David Beckham
Bodywear line, leading
us to question if this is
just the beginning of
“t-commerce” and
shoppable TV. FAST

2. THE BRICK AND
MORTAR FUTURE OF
DIGITAL
Though the new
dynamic platform for
RH Contemporary Art
was designed to
deliver more direct
access for consumers to
purchase art, the
possibilities are endless
in terms of retail
functionality. The
platform is designed to
engage consumers as if
they were browsing a
brick and mortar
gallery, even though
they’re online,
providing insight from
artists and allowing a
more involved
approach to customer
interaction. That type
of engagement is what
many online retailers
are dreaming of, and
it’s right around the
corner. PSFK
3. INTERACTIVE
PACKAGING,
THANKS PIZZA HUT
In the effort to create
interactive experiences,
Pizza Hut UK has
entered the race with a
special augmented
reality pizza box. Using
augmented reality app
Blippar, and working
with XBox One and
Forza Motorsports 5,
the interactive pizza
boxes will provide
customers with game
trailers and access to
sweepstakes entries.
With interactive
storefronts and
publications growing
more popular, why
shouldn’t packaging
follow suit? PSFK
4. IBEACON
REVOLUTION
Location-based
promotions are good,
but with lackluster
consistency because of
“GPS geofencing”, the
door was left wide
open for the much
anticipated iBeacons.
Though the real-world
use is being applied to
grocery stores, the
accuracy of iBeacon
reminders and
promotions could
revolutionize brick and
mortars across the
board. (Editor’s note:
we expect to be writing
a lot more about
iBeacon in the near
future.) FAST COMPANY
