LYST LAUNCHES UNIVERSAL CHECKOUT
Many claim to offer it, Lyst did it. The London-based social curation platform
has 2 million users from 180 countries, which must have helped them
develop the brand relationships needed to make universal checkout happen.
Users of the app can select purchases from multiple brands and retailers, and
checkout one time only, in app. Many people have claimed to have this
functionality, but this is the best implementation we’ve seen to date.

SINGLES DAY IN CHINA BLOWS THE LID OFF
$1 Billion in sales on one website in one day? It happened for the first time
ever in November 2013. On Singles Day in China (a sort-of twist on Valentine’s
Day), Chinese website TMall broke the record. Across the board, Chinese
websites did $5.75 Billion in sales in 24 hours. Here’s some context: across all
US websites, on Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined, sales reached a
record-setting $2.9 Million.
