the libertines
That was my first impression. It’ s difficult not to the way the guitar works throughout their music. It’ s like you can hear the final chord ghost of What Katie Did haunting its way into each song. Or maybe it’ s the solos. Or even the way the guitar acts during the drop chorus. It’ s familiar, but then the voice enters, a fantastic soft, pondering tone which steals it all back... until hey; what Trudy And The Romance say stands- « gonna be our own thing Dawg ». And they’ re right.
UndefIable
Strangely not entirely everybody is the biggest Trudy And The Romance fan. Okay admittedly it was just one crazy holiday neighbour. Listen to this story about their first single All My Love: « I remember stealing the guitar melody from something my dad always played in the garden. I added to it in a hundred different places, and remember getting really excited about the chorus when I was looking after my Dads picture framers whilst he was away on holiday. The guy in the unit next door would come in and tell me he could hear cats screaming. There were no cats in the picture framers. I finished the song at home ».
