Textile hybrid: based on isolated bent compression members
Master ´ s degree in Parametric Design in Architecture stiffness to the vault structure. This pavilion has the particularity of being built only with a single sheet of membrane( with pockets), aluminium tubes with different lenghs and base-ground anchors. It covers an area of 146 meter square. The structure is not completely self-structuring and relies on ground-based conditions [ Kojima, 2011 ].
3.2.3. TEXTILE HYBRID M-1
Year: 2012 Context: workshop University: Institute of computational design( ICD) and Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design( ITKE) Description: the exploration of formal and functional possibilities in highly integrated equilibrium systems of bending active elements and form-active membranes. A more iterative design methodology was established( Figure A13). Software: Sofistik FEM.

Form-finding: the process started with straight beams, the loop modules were all form-found simultaneously by first forming an arc and then droplet shape, then it is proceed to attached the membrane to the beams. Physical form finding experiments were used. Then the computational modelling allowed complex explorations. The parameters were test in order to achieve the efficient structural geometry.
Structural behavior: the structure M1 is developed from the set boundary conditions into a system that continuously passes from cantilevering to arc and finally, to grid-like conditions. The leaf-like shape are interwoven locking the topology into a stiff structure. The membrane mesh is generated on the given boundary conditions of the edge beams. The membrane pre-stress has a significant influence on the overall geometry. The structure is located in a wind-protected position inside a courtyard and very low snow loads in Western France, the temporary structure could be designed with extremely small cross scectional profiles( Figure A14) [ Lienhard, 2014 ].
