Program Areas
Every program that NSSRA offers gives participants the
chance to gain independence, improve self-advocacy,
practice appropriate social skills and promote community
integration. Most of NSSRA’s programming is organized
and offered by age, not ability. In addition, programs are
advertised by type, listed below.
Adult Day Program
The Enriched Lifestyles for Adults (ELA) program is
NSSRA’s adult day program option. The program runs 48
weeks of the year, Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 3:00
pm. ELA’s core program areas are independent living and
continuing education, communication and socialization,
recreation and leisure, and community integration.
Day Camps
NSSRA offers day camps during winter break and during
the summer months for school aged participants through
transition (22 years old).
Gator Athletics (Special Olympics)
NSSRA currently offers ten Gator Athletics programs:
basketball, bocce, bowling, golf, powerlifting, softball,
swimming, tennis, track and field and volleyball.
Inclusion
Inclusion services are available to participants enrolled in
programs offered within NSSRA’s 13 partner communities.
Inclusion Companions are provided through NSSRA to
support participants and encourage socialization within
their own communities’ program or camp options.
