EC: Overclocking has downsized tremendously in the last few years, including some vendors such as Gigabyte giving up on completely. For GALAX, we still insist on overclocking and organize the world's best overclocking event. We need to give credit to our CEO, Alex, as he is the one that still pushes overclocking and without his support, we would not be able to come this far with overclocking as we need to invest a lot of company resources to just break one or two world records. This as well as the OC Lab require not only a lot of money, but also time and resources. Alex loves overclocking, and he personally pushes to make all of this possible. To me personally, overclocking is not only an extreme sport like F1 racing, but is also helps to improve our hardware and promote overclocking to the general public and show them that GALAX is dedicated to making better hardware. On a whole it's not just breaking records, it's also brands building and marketing. Neo: Who are your partners in making this possible? I know BitsPower helped with designing 16 The OverClocker Issue 46 | 2019 the LN2 container for some of the graphics cards, but are there any other vendors you like working with that help you with building these cards? EC: We have been using a solution from IR and Infineon. They have really given us a lot of support, and without their help we would not have been able to break through some of the immediate limitations such as voltage. They opened their backend for us, and without it we would have to use the old methods of modifying graphics cards. With the Hall of Fame graphics cards, you don't need to hard mod anything, you can just run them out of the box. That's one of the most amazing things about it. Neo: Outside of the HOF graphics cards you have memory, and Mad said you actually ship a lot of memory in China. In terms of peripherals and so forth are you still going to release it to the rest of the world? For example, your keyboards and mice and other gaming products? EC: Memory is one of our key products that we are promoting as we have a good relationship with Samsung because of the graphics card business, so we were able to buy B-die ICs direct from Samsung. Max has expertise on memory, and we are working closely with one of the leading memory suppliers on sorting ICs and making the best overclocking memory possible. Our overclocking memory is doing really well alongside G.Skill, and now we are also doing motherboards. We are working with (Red Bull???) and Intel on an overclocking motherboard. We hope we will be able to make it as a final product, but it will have to pass our requirements for overclocking capabilities. Other than that, I doubt we will have any Hall of Fame products outside of graphics cards, memory and motherboards. We have made some Hall of Fame branded keyboards in the past, but management's decision was to split our peripheral business from our graphics card business. We are using a different brand name for all of our gaming peripherals including keyboards, mice and headphones, so we will no longer be using our Hall of Fame brand on gaming peripherals. We want to make our peripherals more lifestyle and gaming oriented and we think the Hall of Fame brand might not be suitable. This brand is already available to some Asian markets and is designed by a different team. We
