Despite that, it’s good to see that anyone who can purchase this CPU but doesn’t necessarily or readily have access to Liquid Nitrogen can not only be competitive but deliver results worthy of the top 20, at least in CineBench R15. I would be interested to find out just how far one could take such an exercise and how many points could be generated with just this combination of hardware (Core i9 9900K, KPC Gemini LN2 Container and G.SKILL F4 DDR4 3200 C14 memory). Hopefully one can report back with that answer in the next issue when we examine ite possibly the best companion board for the Core i9 generation of CPUs (At least where overclocking is concerned). As for the other benchmarks, the Core i9 9900K pretty much continued in the same fashion, making its way into every Top t e ty 8x CPU category. In Cinebench R11.5 the CPU managed to make it to the top 10 in this hardware category. That CPU also relegated to 5.9GHz with the chosen cooling method (Streacom BC1 Open Benchtable FTW!) so perhaps the 5.9GHz of this particular CPU is indicative of the general mileage this SKU, at least this early on. Finally, we get to the Core i7 9700K, the actual successor to the Core i7 8700K. Despite lacking any sort of Hyper-Threading and therefor confined to just 8 physical cores, it’s fast, very fast actually. This is the CPU which was LN2 cooled and it didn’t’ disappoint. The recorded scores were once again not optimized in any shape way or form, but at 6,700MHz the CPU was potent e wPrime 1024 time of 64,501 seconds i would l e it t 55 of the 8x Category right in the middle of 16 thread CPUs. The rest of the scores are in the lle y, but suffice to say, as it stands, it would be relatively easy for anyone who would buy this CPU to claim all the CPU specific performance records, and in some instances find their scores competitive with 16 thread CPU performance scores. Needless to say LN2, is probably the best way to let these CPUs stretch their proverbial legs. While this isn’t new, the complete absence of the dreaded ‘cold bug’, makes these CPUs a pleasure to overclock. t ide the lack of hyper-threading on the Core i7 9700K, the frequencies reached and performance delivered makes this my avourite out of the three, punching well above its weight division. Overall, all three CPUs are t lly easy or simple enough to overclock one can focus on improving efficacy and scores almost exclusively, rather than battling
