that the card is losing video output
not crashing when I actually ran
firestrike full screen. I have an
idea on how to fix the blackscreen
issues but it will be a while before I
get to test it. Other than that it was
pleasant to work with on LN2. My
card has no cold bug and the VRM
didn’t have any trouble delivering
even 1.6V. However the Samsung
RAM that the card comes with was
being a pain and didn’t want to clock
too much above stock though that
could be tied to the black screens.
Moving on to competitive
overclocking, do you take part in it
competitively or perhaps just enjoy
pushing the hardware for your own
personal satisfaction?
I don’t really participate in OCesports since I prefer to take things
at my own pace, slowly work things
out bench what and when I feel like
it. It also doesn’t help that I rarely
have hardware that is relevant to
any of the sponsored competitions.
However I am a team captain and so
I do care about contributing to the
team and maintaining a somewhat
respectable individual ranking.
If you had to say there was one
individual or team which inspired
you to get started, who would that be
and why?
I remember that there was a post on
the ASUS ROG blog about extreme
overclocking and I
Most overclockers have a “classic
era” or period in which they believe
overclocking was at its best. Do you
have such a time period and if so,
when was it, or do you prefer the
present climate?
I joined HWbot at the end of 2012.
I didn’t really interact with the
community much until recently. For
me it was always me vs the hardware
so I never cared too much about the
general state of OCing. I’d like to see
the community grow and as of right
now I think OCing needs to become
more “welcoming” but personally
I will OC stuff as long as it can be
OCed.
