Benchmarks Summary We compared the Revodrive directly against the current king in consumer IOPS performance, the ACARD ANS-9010. We used a series of benchmarks including multiple IOMETER random and sequential tests as well as HDTUNE to gather results for analysis. The system was set at a standard 3600 MHz while performing these benchmarks. ACARD ANS-9010 OCZ Revodrive 3 X2 480GB IOMETER 512b random read 42394 IOPS 65545 IOPS IOMETER 512b random write 35873 IOPS 53538 IOPS IOMETER 512b sequential read 41143 IOPS 65122 IOPS IOMETER 512b sequential write 39226 IOPS 54704 IOPS IOMETER 4k random read 24343 IOPS 58854 IOPS IOMETER 4k sequential read 24313 IOPS 66065 IOPS HDTUNE read average 171.0 MB/s 488.7 MB/s HDTUNE write average 140.8 MB/s 470.1 MB/s HDTUNE write average is also a good indication of how a drive will perform in PCMark 05’s hard drive general test, so the Revodrive is looking strong for one of our favourite benchmarks. The trend of dominance continues in the IOMETER 512B random reads and writes benchmark, with 35% and 33% swings in favour of the Revodrive. When you consider that the ACARD is a device that is populated with RAM and how dominant it has been in random IOPS operations up until now, you can start to appreciate how powerful the Revodrive 3 really is. The Revodrive is not finished though, with another slaying of the competition in IOMETER 512B sequential read and write operations. We think the most definitive of all the benchmarks is the IOMETER 4k random and sequential read performance as they closely mimic the daily operations of most end users. The Revodrive comes through to win by a factor of three in these very important benchmarks. The Revodrive is the first device we have had break 50,000 IOPS in all six of the IOMETER tests we utilize, in fact it averages a touch over 60K in the six tests.? [PRO] OCZ had to do an amazing job of this device considering the price and they have certainly done that. The Revodrive 3 X2 not only beats the ACARD ANS-9010 but it totally demolishes it in a way we have never seen before. Considering the size of the drive and the speeds being offered, this product is extremely good value for money. Yes, we know it is $1,364 but if you wanted to achieve this performance with SSD’s you would spend much more, let alone trying to achieve a similar size with ACARDs. Forget it! It is not often you call a product good value when most people cannot afford it, but this is one of those times.
