Sandpit Creations was brought on to recreate and elevate the Alien: Earth SXSW activation for Disney +, transforming it into a high-impact touring experience for European audiences. Working from US build files, photos, and scenic references, we adapted every element, structurally, scenically, and technically, to meet UK standards, withstand multiple installations, and deliver cinematic immersion at scale. From a full-scale crashed cockpit to interactive AV-controlled puzzles and hand-sculpted alien specimens, the team brought this terrifying world of Alien to life with exceptional detail and realism. Scope of work:
• Full scenic set construction( crash site, fuselage, cockpit)
• Prop making: alien eggs, slime FX, specimen jars, control panels
• AV & show control system: lighting, sound, interactive triggers
• Touring support: install, derig, technical operation across multiple international sites
Final Outcome and Impact Sandpit Creations mastered the creation of a high impact, visually stunning, story-led cinematic experience that thrilled crowds and helped generate major buzz ahead of the new series. Sandpit’ s integrated approach across departments helped deliver an activation that felt truly cinematic, interactive, unforgettable and suitable for touring Europe and beyond!
