RECYCLED GOLD

GENANVENDELIGT GULD

RECYCLED GOLD

The gold that you buy from Aktiv Guld is recycled gold . We collaborate with recognised European partners which through LBMA certification ( The London Bullion Market Association ) and RJC ( Responsible Jewellery Council ) are able to guarantee that environmental and ethical guidelines are complied with .

Today gold is recovered in more than 90 countries . Regardless of which method is used , it ’ s toilsome and demanding work often performed in wretched conditions . The recovery of gold can also have great consequences for the environment , the most harmful of which are the felling of forest and rainforest , the erosion of topsoil and the pollution of water and watercourses . In some parts of the world , gold continues to be extracted using toxic chemicals and heavy metals such as mercury , which is harmful to humans and animals , as it damages the brain and the body ’ s central nervous system .
As new technology is developed , extraction methods are improving in many areas , but at Aktiv Guld we still prefer buying and selling gold that has been recycled . We can do this because many items of jewellery are sold and sent for refining , i . e . the gold is cleaned and ends up as pure gold , which is then put back into circulation .
We encourage everyone to put their old gold into circulation , thus helping to protect nature ’ s resources through sustainable recycling .
