the life of a believer1. Hebrews 11:26 states
that: “But without faith it is impossible to
please him: for he that cometh to God must
believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of
them that diligently seek him.”
The importance of Faith
Faith allows one to trust the lord wholeheartedly and to follow the leading of the spirit. And
it is in fact those that are lead by his spirit who
become the sons of God. “For as many as are
led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of
God.”-Romans 8:14
The Problem
The major problem with young people today,
is that they fail to understand that they need
Jesus in their lives. Having been introduced to
Christianity from an early age does not guarantee their acceptance of the power of salvation
nor does it make them truly desirous of the
goodness of the lord, even after hearing of it
on several occasions. What is clear to me
though, is that they choose not to accept the
truth, simply because they are aware of the
changes in their life that must follow and are
unwilling to do so. 2 Corinthians 5:17 adds
that: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a
new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.” Additionally there is Colossians 3:1,2,5,8 and 10, which
reads thus:
“1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those
things which are above, where Christ sitteth on
the right hand of God.
2
Set your affection on things above, not on
things on the earth.
5
Mortify therefore your members which are
upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inor-
dinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry
8
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath,
malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of
your mouth.
10
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that
created him”
Most of the youth fall into the illusion that is sin
and choose to live accordingly. But this should be
nothing strange as 1 Timothy 4v1 warns that:
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the
latter times some shall depart from the faith,
giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of
devils” Young people often complain that: “ we
are too young to serve the lord, we have plans
for now” But we are reminded in Proverbs 19:21
that : “There are many devices in a man's heart;
nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall
stand” My fellow young people let us rise together mounting up with wings like eagles. The
world has nothing for us safe sin, shame and
disgrace. Proverbs admonishes us saying: “Listen,
my son, and be wise, and keep your heart on the
right path. Do not join those who drink too much
wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards
and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness
clothes them in rags.”
Finally
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord,
and in the power of his might. Put on the
whole armour of God, that ye may be able
to stand against the wiles of the devil.
