NEWS NEWS LOSER Ernie Els - what was all that nonsense about not wanting to play in the requisite two out of three of the Final Series in the Race To Dubai? Els has been a great supporter of the European Tour over the years, but nobody is bigger than the tour, and he played in a runof-the-mill event in America when he could and should have been in Shanghai. You get paid a lot of money for chasing that little white ball, Ernie - it really wasn’t asking too much to expect you to get on a plane and fly out to Shanghai or Turkey. Nobody missed you WINNER Matt Kuchar - is there a more genuine man on Tour? Nobody has a bad word to say about Kuchar. He deals with triumph and disaster in precisely the same way, seldom plays without a smile on his face and clearly recognises how lucky he is to be making his living (and bucketloads of cash) by playing this game. Kuchar is always happy to give interviews, to sign autographs for fans and to pose for pictures. Tiger Woods, please take note 20 LOSER Bubba Watson - is anybody else growing a little tired of Bubba’s antics? Yes, he won The Masters. Yes, he produced a wondrous shot to do so. Yes, he cried (doesn’t he always?). But the PGA Tour doesn’t owe you a living Bubba. Stop moaning, stop losing your temper on the golf course and just focus on your game. You’ve got a God-given talent, and it will win you more titles, but only if you get your head sorted out THEZONE / ISSUE 28
