GOLFNEWS T Momentous month for women’s game HERE have been three momentous events in women’s golf since the last edition of The Zone - a golfer who wasn’t Inbee Park won the final major of the season, the Solheim Cup took place without Laura Davies and the European team won on American soil for the first time. Park had triumphed in the first three majors of the year, the latest in a series of South Koreans to utterly dominate women’s golf. For the wellbeing of the game, there will have been a huge sigh of relief at LPGA Tour headquarters that the Women’s British Open was won by Stacy Lewis, an American who may just be capable of dominating the game and giving it some new life. It may seem unfair to be critical of Park. She hits the ball straight, she finds greens and she holes putts. But it is all so, well, boring. There must be a personality in there somewhere but Park keeps it well hidden. She shows no flicker of emotion, whether she has just holed a 40-foot putt for an eagle or missed a tiddler for a nine.
