you around the corner to a circular
shaped hole in the wall. From afar, this
interesting focal point draws you in and
you want to peer through and see what
is on the other side. When you do, you
find a shade-loving garden filled with
ferns, bromeliads, logs and clivias. The
clivias bring a new dynamic to the garden
when they flower en masse in September.
When you come to the end of this magical
pathway, you find a bench that catches
the sun hidden amongst the foliage; you
can’t help but want to sit on it and drink in
all the beauty surrounding you.
It is very clear to see that Sharon and
Ed take great pride in their garden, and
it does not stop there either. They have
beautiful raised circular vegetable beds
and there are small projects happening all
around, including a wormery, a compost
making area as well as developing a
new area. What an inspiration and joy it
was to visit this beautiful garden - many
thanks to the Hook family for sharing their
garden with us.
