Get creative by jazzing up corners,
high and low, with pot plants, hanging
baskets, or if you don’t have a selection
of potplants, use vegetables such as
frilly lettuce or cabbages in water dishes
– they even last longer than cut flowers.
Sarah has added interest to her alcove
by framing it with potplants, using a
topiary as a focal point and jazzing it up
with hanging hearts and covering the
bottom with candle holders - all these
different heights add interest.

The final touch

Do not forget the minor details in
the garden too. Make sure the grass
has been cut, hedges trimmed and
spent flowers removed. After all the
final touches have been made, relax
and enjoy your alfresco day with your
friends and family!
