Fun for the kids 3. 5. 7. 2. With a black marker, draw in the feathers like big ā€˜Uā€™ or ā€˜Vā€™ shapes. 4. When the paint is dry, use the black marker to outline all the feathers. 6. Cut out two white circles from the scrap piece and use the black marker to draw circles in the middle for the eyes. Stick these into the lids. Glue them above the nose for the eyes. Paint the feathers different colours; we created different shades of green by adding white, yellow or blue. Cut out the beak from the scrap piece from the front. Glue it shiny-side up. Once the glue is dry, push the stick through the front and the back of the box to make sure it is sturdy for the birds to land on. It should stick out the front about 5cm. To hang the box up with string, make a small slit at the top of the box. Thread the string through the hole and tie a knot in it. Fill it with birdfeed and hang it up in the tree for the birds. 23
